The 9-Month Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) Teacher Training Program (live-taught online) will equip professionals to teach the 9-week Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) course to pregnant women and their partners which covers subjects such as the physiology of childbirth, ways to use the mind to work with pain during labor, positions for birthing, breastfeeding, parenting a newborn, and using mindful communication during childbirth and beyond. The MBCP course has been widely acclaimed, with perinatal professionals from all over the world now training to teach MBCP.
Over 3 modules, you will experience the MBCP course as a participant-observer, attend weekly live-online seminars led by MBCP faculty & expert visiting faculty, take part in experiential teaching practice and faculty-led didactic teaching of theory, carry out weekly home study and weekly partner teaching practice with peers. During Level 2, some students may be beginning to teach in a limited capacity.
The training is open to perinatal professionals who have completed an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), or MBCP course and who have some experience working with families during the perinatal period.
