About the Event
This is a one-day Introductory Workshop Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) for Perinatal and Neonatal Professionals.
This workshop will be an introduction to ‘Mindful Birthing’ the work of Nancy Bardacke, midwife and mindfulness teacher. Her programme ‘Mindfulness-based Childbirth and Parenting, (MBCP), prepares the mind, body and heart for childbirth and beyond. It brings mindfulness practice into the field of preparation for birth, parenthood and perinatal mental health.
MBCP has been shown to reduce risk of postnatal depression, fear of childbirth and to support parents to feel confident going into the journey of childbirth and parenting.
MBCP is based on Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), a well evidenced stress management programme which has been shown to enhance wellbeing.
This workshop will be an introduction to the mindfulness practices specific to MPCP and to the underpinning theories that inform the programme.
The workshop will be experiential and theoretical.

have experienced of some of the practical elements of MBCP.

have considered the practicalities of implementations of MBCP in the perinatal field.
