What is the Mindful Birthing Residential Retreat and Summit?

The Mindful Birthing Residential Retreat and Summit is a three-day, in-person gathering bringing together Mindful Birthing alumni, faculty, staff, board members, and invited guests. The retreat includes mindfulness practice, presentations, research conversations, and time for reflection and connection in a beautiful coastal setting.

When and where does the retreat take place?

The retreat will take place October 16 to 18, 2026, at Asilomar Hotel and Conference Center in Pacific Grove, California, on the Monterey Peninsula.

How do I register?

Registration happens in two steps.

First, you register and pay the $295 conference registration fee to secure your place at the retreat.

After you register, we will email you a dedicated link to book your accommodation directly with Asilomar at the special conference rate.

Question 4

Does the conference registration fee include accommodation?

Accepted Answer

No. The conference registration fee covers retreat and conference attendance only. Accommodation and meals are booked and paid for separately through Asilomar using the booking link we send after registration.

What is included with accommodation at Asilomar?

Accepted Answer

Accommodation includes lodging at Asilomar Hotel and Conference Center and all meals, beginning with dinner on Friday and ending with lunch on Sunday. You will also have access to the Asilomar grounds, walking trails, and nearby beach.

What are the accommodation costs?

Accommodation is booked directly with Asilomar. All rates below are for the full two-night stay:
Shared room (double occupancy): $441.90 per person
Private room (single occupancy): $660.08 per person
Availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I bring a guest?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Alumni may bring one guest.
Alumni bringing a guest will be booked into a private room. The alumni pays the single-occupancy accommodation rate, and the guest fee covers meals only.
If you wish to bring more than one guest, this must be arranged directly with Asilomar, as additional guests cannot be managed through the conference booking.

Can I choose my roommate if I book a shared room?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When booking accommodation with Asilomar, you will be able to request a specific roommate. Both people must list each other at the time of booking in order to be assigned to the same room.

What if I need accessibility accommodations?

Accepted Answer

Asilomar offers accessible meeting spaces and a limited number of accessible guest rooms. Please indicate any accessibility needs during conference registration, and we will do our best to support your needs in coordination with Asilomar.

Ground transportation options include rental cars and shuttle services. Groome Transportation offers scheduled shuttle service from San Jose and San Francisco airports to the Monterey area. Advance booking is recommended.

What if my plans change and I need to cancel?

Conference registration and accommodation have separate cancellation policies.

Accommodation cancellations are managed directly by Asilomar and are subject to their cancellation terms, which will be provided at the time of booking. Conference registration cancellation details will be shared during registration.
