6-day Introduction to MBCP Retreat

Participants in this retreat will experience first-hand each of the mindfulness meditation practices as they are taught in the MBCP classroom; become familiar with the core concepts and practices of the 9-week MBCP program; explore or deepen their understanding of mindfulness and this way of teaching for expectant parents; and investigate the potential for bringing this approach specifically into the fields of maternal, child and family health in which they work.
Mind in Labor Professional Workshop
Pain and anxiety are often the greatest challenges in childbirth. Learning to use the mind to work with these challenges can make a huge difference in a labor and delivery experience. The Mind in Labor Professional Workshop is an opportunity for professionals to witness expectant parents learning to use mindfulness in order to work with pain and fear in childbirth and to cultivate present moment awareness. Professional participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the history and implications of Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) skills directly from the workshop facilitators.
