A Little Bit About Us

Mindful Birthing is an evidence-based program founded in 1998 by nurse-midwife Nancy Bardacke, CNM, one of the earliest adaptations of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. It is grounded in the MBSR lineage of Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, and studied in an ongoing research partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Nancy has taught more than 1,500 expectant parents and trained hundreds of teachers across six continents. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to make this work available to everyone who needs it.
