Mindful Birthing - Programs for Mindful Family Living
  Mindfulness-Based Infant Massage

Mindfulness-Based Infant Massage is a class for parents and their infants. Gentle, respectful infant massage can be a relational mindfulness practice for us during these precious early months. As we learn to “listen” to our babies’ non-verbal communications and express our caring through touch we can become deeply attuned to each other. Through supportive class discussions we take time to acknowledge the profound life changes we are experiencing as new parents. We learn to skillfully apply mindfulness to our parenting and find ways to care for our babies and ourselves with joy, wisdom and balance.

Mindfulness-Based Infant Massage: A Class for New Parents

“Before the class I would have said we have a fussy baby. After just two sessions, my husband and I are calmer, the baby is calmer, and we are all happier!”

In this course we will:

  • Learn to give our babies a full body massage, adding new strokes at each session
  • Gain a deeper understanding of our babies non-verbal communication
  • Reflect on the nature of crying, giving comfort and "being with" rather than "doing to"
  • Become more aware of the attitudes and beliefs we are bringing to our parenting
  • Grow ourselves as we nurture our children
  • Tap into deep connection, openheartedness and fun with our babies
